An
introduction to GolfingGuides.net
With
the recent explosion in the number of new golf courses all of
which seem
to claim that they are " the finest in X or
Y region" and that they are all "championship courses" -
whatever that may mean - we felt that an objective and independent
assessment of the finest accessible courses was well overdue.
Designed to appeal to those golfers who are happy to explore new
areas in their love of the game, Golfingguides.net shows you wonderful
clubs each of which, we believe, is a delight to play. Whether
you are researching a golf holiday, arranging a Society day, or
simply dreaming of distant fairways, we are confident that any
of the courses featured here is representative of the great traditions
of Golf. They all present a fair and testing challenge, a courteous
welcome to visitors and the opportunity to savour beautiful scenery.
Qualification demands that the courses are exceptional, that they
welcome visitors and that the green fee represents value for money.
We review the list every year; adding more courses if they deserve
it and removing any whose standards have slipped. The information
supplied is concise and relevant with superb photographs to give
you a feel for the course and a commentary written by people who
know the courses well.
Our judging panel is made up of leading writers and photographers
from within the Golf industry, every course has been visited anonymously
and we accept no financial inducements - unlike other sites, these
courses do not have to pay for their inclusion, they appear here
on merit so you can be sure of the impartiality of our selection.
Yours in golf,
The Golfing Guides Team
