| Highway 17 South, Pawleys Island, SC 29585 |

|
One of the oldest courses in the Myrtle Beach area and the oldest in the Pawleys Island area south of the main city, Litchfield Country Club, one of three courses available to guests of the Litchfield Beach resort, glows with Southern charm and an old country club aura.
That’s because many of the homeowners in the quiet, tree-dappled neighborhood surrounding the course are members of the private part of the club: a limited number of visitors’ tee times are permitted each day.
The golf course is a lovely old jewel that’s not too punishing, with wide fairways, welcoming greens and run-up areas for those who like to bump-and-run the ball.
After the round, the gracious white clubhouse, bedecked in flowering shrubs, offers a perfect place for a post-prandial drink and a bite of lunch. Golf doesn’t have to be endlessly punishing to be enjoyable: Litchfield Country Club is the proof of that.
