This modern country-club facility began to open in 1995 and today boasts 27 holes, plus extensive tennis facilities, a pool and a beautiful clubhouse. It is the centerpiece of a residential development in this economically growing area of central South Carolina, roughly halfway between Greenville and Augusta, Ga.
The Tom Jackson design routs the holes through wooded areas and open meadows, with ample use of mounds, bunkers and occasional water hazards. The third hole on the Willow course is a hearty 199 yards over a lake to an island green, a somewhat scary prospect!
The opening hole on the original Oak course begins with a long, uphill 506-yard par five, bending through the trees, and finishes with two hard par fours of 409 and 422 yards. The Maple course features a 629-yard par five, and two watery closers.
Excellent conditioning is always found at this facility, which draws good golfers from throughout the central region of the state to challenge these modern holes and enjoy the hospitality of the clubhouse.
