| 1002 Landfall Way, Seabrook Island, SC 29455 |

|
Seabrook Island has always lived somewhat in the shadow of its more famous and much larger near-neighbor, Kiawah Island. But this mostly private residential community does offer comfortable rental villas and boasts two fine golf courses, a Robert Trent Jones design at Crooked Oaks, and Willard Byrd’s Ocean Winds.
As the name suggests, the Ocean Winds course lies close to the Atlantic beaches and breezes, which can be a relief on hot days, but always adds an extra element to the golf. Several of the holes skirt the beach, and unlike much of the rest of the course, are basically treeless.
But soon the course winds back through the forest, made up of huge, gnarly old liveoaks and tall, spindly loblolly pines. Frequent doglegs, well-protected greens and lots of water will keep the golfer’s attention from first hole to last.
It may not get the publicity, but Seabrook Island has two fine courses well worth anyone’s time.
